تصنيفات إضافية للأخبار بواسطة قوالب عرض الأخبار
ما رأيكم بإضافة تصنيفات مضمنة إلى قوالب عرض الأخبار حسب الدولة بحيث تضاف الأخبار إلى تصنيفات جغرافية أوسع أيضاً، مثل القارة أو الإقليم الذي يقع فيه البلد؟ يوجد تصنيفات مثل تصنيف:آسيا أو الشرق الأوسط وما يشبهه، وهنا يمكن تطبيق مقاربتين:
- إضافة هذه التصنيفات الجغرافية العامة يدوياً إلى كل مقالة إذا كان الخبر يتعلق بالمنطقة أو الإقليم ككل؛
- أو إضافتها إلى القوالب بحيث تضاف جميع المقالات التي تحوي قالب {{الصومال}} مثلاً إلى تصنيف:أفريقيا، وجميع المقالات التي تحوي قالب {{إيران}} إلى تصنيف:آسيا أو الشرق الأوسط، وهذا هو المطبق في بعض المشاريع الأخرى التي فحصتها، حيث أن التصنيفات العامة عندهم مليئة بالمقالات.
لقد أضفت تصنيفات جغرافية عامة إلى عدة قوالب دول بالفعل، وفي حال غياب الاعتراضات أنوي إضافتها إلى القوالب الباقية بطريقة انتهازية، أي عندما أحتاج للقالب وألاحظ أن التصنيف غير موجود فيه.
وطبعاً لن تضاف تصنيفات غير جغرافية مثل تصنيف:جامعة الدول العربية أو تصنيف:الناتو لأن أغلب الأخبار المتعلقة بالدول الأعضاء في هذه المنظمات لا علاقة لها بفعاليات هذه المنظمات. وإلا لوجدنا جميع الأخبار في تصنيف:الأمم المتحدة! --PICAWN (نقاش) 20:32، 5 يناير 2013 (ت ع م)

هناك نقطتان. أولاً، جربت كوداً من أجل قوالب عرض الأخبار
- الكود الذي يفحص إن كانت الصورة التي أضافها المستخدم إلى أحد قوالب عرض الأخبار موجودة فيضعها بدل الصورة الافتراضية للقالب، وإن لم تكن موجودة بسبب خطأ في اسم الملف أو حذف الصورة لاحقاً يعرض الصورة الافتراضية والتعليق الافتراضي. عدا ذلك، لا يعرض القالب التعليق الافتراضي في حال غير المستخدم الصورة ولم يكتب تعليقاً خاصاً بها:

- طريقة الاستخدام
ضع الكود مكان كود الصورة في القالب. اكتب اسم ملف الصورة الافتراضية بلا السابقة «ملف:» بدل <<<اسم ملف الصورة الافتراضية>>> والتعليق الافتراضي في مكان <<<التعليق الافتراضي>>>.
أقترح إضافة هذا السطر بدل سطر الملف (الصورة) القديم الموجود في القوالب حالياً. بما أنني لا أتوقع اعتراضات، سأقوم بهذه المهمة بصورة انتهازية (كلما وجدت وقتاً أو أدرجت قالباً في مقالة)، وأطلب من الآخرين أن يفعلوا الشيء نفسه.

Be a Wikimedia fundraising "User Experience" volunteer!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered last year on the Wikimedia fundraising 'User Experience' project. We have talked to many different people in different countries and their feedback has helped us immensely in restructuring our pages. If you haven't heard of it yet, the 'User Experience' project has the goal of underst the donation experience in different countries (outside the USA) and enhancing the localization of our donation pages.
I am (still) searching for volunteers to spend some time on a Skype chat with me, reviewing their own country's donation pages. It will be done on a 'usability' format (I will ask you to read the text and go through the donation flow) and will be asking your feedback in the meanwhile.
The only pre-requisite is for the volunteer to actually live in the country and to have access to at least one donation method that we offer for that country (mainly credit/debit card, but also real time banking like IDEAL, E-wallets, etc...) so we can do a live test and see if the donation goes through. **All volunteers will be reimbursed of the donations that eventually succeed (and they will be very low amounts, like 1-2 dollars)**

ترتيب الأخبار. صيغة قالب مصدر
بما أن ترتيب الأخبار وفق الحرف الأول لعنوانها لا معنى له، فقد أضفت إلى قالب التحميل المسبق لإنشاء المقالات الجديدة ترتيباً افتراضياً وفق وقت إنشاء الخبر. ومن اليوم فصاعداً سوف تترتب الأخبار في التصنيفات من الأقدم إلى الأحدث في بداية التصنيف. لا يجوز تطبيق هذا الترتيب على الأخبار الأقدم كيلا يؤثر ذلك على ترتيبها بواسطة أداة عرض الأخبار، ولهذا ستبقى الأخبار الأقدم كما كانت في آخر التصنيف مرتبة وفق الحرف الأول لعنوانها.
لقد غيرت أسماء المتغيرات في {{مصدر}}، مع إبقاء أسماء المتغيرات القديمة عاملة. الصيغة الجديدة الموصى بها هي التالية:
- «مسار» بدل «وصلة»
- «ناشر» بدل «مصدر»
الغرض من هذا التعديل هو تسهيل نقل القالب إلى ويكيبيديا. لم أجرب بعد هذا، ولكن المفترض أن استبدال اسم القالب مصدر باسم قالب مرجع وب في ويكيبيديا يجب أن يعمل.
التعديلات موثقة في صفحة شرح القالب. صار بالإمكان استخدام أكثر من صيغة لكل متغير.

Wikimedia sites to move to primary data center in Ashburn, Virginia. Read-only mode expected.
(Apologies if this message isn't in your language.) Next week, the Wikimedia Foundation will transition its main technical operations to a new data center in Ashburn, Virginia, USA. This is intended to improve the technical performance and reliability of all Wikimedia sites, including this wiki. مرة أخرى: أرشفة المقالات القديمة
لم يمر ستة أشهر على رفض مقترح أرشفة مقالات الأخبار القديمة، لكني أطرحه من جديد بعد أن قام مستخدم مجهول مؤخراً بتعديل عدد من الأخبار القديمة المنشورة، بما فيه حذف التصنيفات والقوالب. بعد استرجاع التعديل ظهر هذا الخبر، وتاريخه نهاية فبراير، على رأس قائمة الأخبار بتاريخ 11 مارس. وبالمثل تشوه إلى الأبد مظهر أرشيف أخبار فبراير حيث ظهر هذا الخبر فيه بتاريخ 11 مارس أيضاً، وكذلك في بوابة:طيران وأماكن كثيرة أخرى.
دواعي أرشفة المقالات القديمة – أي حمايتها حماية كاملة بعد مرور فترة على نشرها – هي:
- تقنياً
- يوجد في ويكي الأخبار أداةٌ لعرض الأخبار الأخيرة. تعتمد هذه الأداة على تاريخ إضافة خبر إلى تصنيف محدد، وتظهر هذا التاريخ. يتغير تاريخ إضافة الخبر إلى التصنيف إذا أزيل التصنيف من الخبر ثم أضيف من جديد، أو إذا تم تعديل ترتيب الخبر ضمن التصنيف، بما فيه تغيير الترتيب الافتراضي للصفحة، أو نقل الصفحة إلى عنوان آخر. وهذا ما حدث اليوم: حذف أحدهم جزءاً من المقالة، وصدف أنه حذف معها قوالب وتصنيفات. وبعد استرجاع التعديل تعتبر أداة عرض الأخبار أن الخبر أضيف بتاريخ اليوم. وهذه الأداة مستخدمة في مواضع عدة، منها قوالب عرض الأخبار وفي الصفحة الرئيسية وفي أرشيف الأخبار، لذا فإن أي تعديل من قبل شخص لا يدرك العواقب يؤدي إلى تخرب ترتيب الأخبار إلى الأبد ولا مجال لإصلاحه.
- لهذا السبب قمت بحذف كافة التصنيفات المحولة من المشروع: النشاط في ويكي الأخبار قليل، نشاط البوتات منخفض أيضاً، والكثير من التصنيفات تضاف بواسطة القوالب ولا يستطيع البوت تصليحها. لهذا فالأفضل أن يظهر التصنيف الخاطئ وصلةً حمراء لينبه المستخدم إلى الخطأ فوراً.
- هذه المشاكل لا حل لها إلا الحماية الكاملة: نظام المراجعات المطبق في ويكيبيديا لن يفيد، وحتى الحماية الجزئية قد لا تفي بالغرض لأن الكثير من المستخدمين المؤكدين تلقائياً قد يجهلون بعض التفاصيل التقنية الدقيقة، واسترجاع التعديلات غير المقبولة لا يعيد الوضع إلى ما كان عليه.
- من وجهة نظر طبيعة الأخبار
صحيح أن نظام الويكي في مشاريع مؤسسة ويكيميديا يعتمد على حرية التعديل للجميع؛ ولكن الأساسي في تفسير كل السياسات أن تعمل لمصلحة كل مشروع ومنع الأذى عنه، لهذا تنبع من طبيعة كل مشروع. شرحت لماذا طبيعة ويكي الأخبار تتعارض – لأسباب تقنية – مع تغييرات معينة في الصفحات بعد مرور مدة معينة، وأضيف أسباباً متعلقة بفلسفة ويكي الأخبار واختلافها عن المشاريع الأخرى – لا سيما ويكيبيديا – لأن أغلب المشاركين هنا ويكيبيديون (انظر ويكي الأخبار:للويكيبيديين)، ولديهم نزعة لتعميم طبيعة عمل ويكيبيديا على المشاريع الأخرى:
- دورة تطوير المقالة في ويكي الأخبار، بخلاف ويكيبيديا، قصيرة: الخبر يجب أن يتطور خلال 24 ساعة أو بضعة أيام كحد أقصى، ولا يجوز تغيير مضمون الخبر بعد الانتهاء من تطويره بل إذا ظهرت معلومات جديدة يجب كتابة خبر جديد. الأخبار تمثل لقطة آنية عن الزمن وما هو معروف في لحظة كتابة الخبر، ولا يجوز تجاوز هذا المبدأ.
- لهذا السبب الخبر إما يصل بسرعة إلى الشكل المقبول أو يُحذف إذا صار قديماً ولم يتطور ليحقق الشروط.
- في حال اكتشاف مشكلة في خبر قديم، مثل خرق حقوق النشر أو عدم الالتزام بوجهة النظر المحايدة أو أمور جذرية أخرى، لا يجوز تصحيحه: لا يمكن إلا إبقاؤه كما هو أو يجب حذفه.
- لا يمكن تصحيح الأخطاء الإملائية في العنوان بعد مرور وقت على نشر الخبر لأن ذلك سيغير ترتيبه بين الأخبار.
- بالمثل، الأخبار هي صورة عن مشروع ويكي الأخبار وتطوره، فحتى الأخطاء الأخرى، حتى لو كانت طفيفة، يجب أن تبقى كما هي.
- إذا تعطلت وصلة لا يجوز إحياؤها أيضاً.
هذا الكلام مأخوذ في الغالب من السياسة الإنكليزية.
- المقترح ليس بدعة وليس تقليداً لمشروع واحد
سياسة حماية الأخبار القديمة مطبقة في ويكي الأخبار الإنكليزية والفارسية على الأقل، وربما في مشاريع أخرى. ويكي الأخبار الإنكليزية في الحاضر هي المشروع الوحيد الذي تظهر مقالاته في أخبار جوجل، وقد فهمت من قراءتي لنقاشاتهم أنهم أقنعوا أخبار جوجل أن ويكي نيوز فيه نظام لمراجعة المقالات قبل النشر ومنع تغيير محتواها بعد أن تُنشر.
ويكي الأخبار ليست المشروع الوحيد الذي يحمي الصفحات ليس لأنها تعرضت للتخريب إنما بعد تحقيقها شروطاً معينة: يوجد سياسة حماية في ويكي مصدر، حيث أن لديهم نظام مراجعة النصوص للتحقق من خلوها من أخطاء، وبعد الانتهاء من التحقق يحمى النص المصدري من التعديل. هذه طبيعة ويكي مصدر: النص المصدري، متى تطابق مع الأصل، لا يجوز أن يخضع للتعديل لأن كل تحسين عليه هو بالفعل تخريب له.
من المؤكد أن أي نظام مراجعة لا يضمن خلو النصوص المراجعة من الأخطاء تماماً وفي كل الحالات. لهذا تبقى صفحات النقاش غير محمية ويمكن اقتراح التصحيحات فيها. وهذا هام في ويكي الأخبار لأن هناك تعديلات قد لا يدرك ذوو خبرة تقنية محدودة عواقبها، لهذا يجب حصرها بمن لديه الخبرة الكافية.
- الخلاصة
طبيعة بعض مشاريع ويكيميديا، مثل ويكي الأخبار وويكي مصدر، تحتم حماية بعض الصفحات من التعديل ليس بعد تعرضها لتخريب إنما بمجرد تحقيقها لشروط محددة: التحقق من صحة النص في ويكي مصدر أو مرور مدة زمنية على نشر الخبر في ويكي الأخبار. هذا لا يتعارض مع فلسفة ويكيميديا لأن مبادئ ويكيميديا تهدف إلى حماية المشاريع وتحسين نوعيتها وتقليل الأذى المحتمل. في ويكي الأخبار لا يوجد تقريباً تعديلات مفيدة على المقالات بعد مرور بضعة أيام على نشرها، وإن كان هناك أي مقترحات – إضافة قالب {{تتمة}} أو تنبيه إلى خرق حقوق نشر أو طلب حذف – يمكن طلب ذلك كله في صفحة نقاش الخبر.
عذراً على الإطالة. قررت طرح المشروع مجدداً لأني أحاول أن أرتّب مختلف نواحي ويكي الأخبار وأنزعج عندما أرى أن محاولاتي تخرب بتعديل مفاجئ، سواء بحسن أو سوء نية.

Hi. After consulting with a number of community members, we have started the first step in creating a potential Wikimedia Affiliate group. The details can be found at The Wikinewsie Group. The purpose of the group is:
- support open license, independent journalistic efforts that provide neutral and verifiable reporting of news stories,
- support the education of future journalists in trying to insure they maintain historical journalistic ideals regarding reporting standards,
- support efforts to increase journalist freedom to report around the globe,
- encourage participation of and facilitate non-professional journalists practicing their craft on Wikinews, and
- support the mission statement and vision of the Wikimedia Foundation.
This aims to compliment and support existing efforts, and there is zero intention of imposing one language's policies on another language. The project should assist in increasing original reporting, improving original reporting according to local project standards, better supporting our small community and increasing participation.

تحويلات إنترويكي
في ويكي الأخبار الكثير من تحويلات الإنترويكي، أي صفحات فيها قالب يقول أن هذه الصفحة موجودة في مشروع ويكيميديا آخر، عادةً ويكيبيديا. الكثير من هذه الصفحات هي أسماء بلدان أو أشخاص. أرى أن وجودها لا فائدة منه لأن القارئ يتوقع أن يرى فيها نصاً مفيداً لكنه يجد قالباً يدعوه إلى الذهاب إلى مشروع آخر، أي أن يترك ويكي الأخبار.
لهذا سوف أحذف تلك التحويلات التي لا يصل إليها شيء، أما التحويلات التي توجد وصلات إليها فسوف أجعلها تحويلات إلى تصنيف الأخبار ليبقى القارئ ضمن المشروع وربما يتشجع لقراءة المزيد من الأخبار حول الموضوع. وإن لم يكن هناك تصنيف مقابل لهذه الصفحة ولا يبدو أن هناك ضرورة لإنشائه سأحاول الرجوع إلى المقالات التي تصل إلى التحويلة وتعديلها لتشير إلى مقالات ويكيبيديا مباشرة.
في المستقبل يفترض تطوير بوابات للكثير من التصنيفات الكبرى مثل تصنيفات البلدان، وعندها سيكون من الأفضل أن تصبح هذه التحويلات إلى البوابات لا إلى التصنيفات. كما أن التصنيفات تحتاج إلى قالب ترويسة يعطي بعض المعلومات عن موضوع التصنيف ليصبح شبيهاً بالبوابة. --PICAWN (نقاش) 11:51، 13 أبريل 2013 (ت ع م)

There is a new request for comment on Meta-Wiki concerning the removal of administrative rights from long-term inactive Wikimedians. Generally, this proposal from stewards would apply to wikis without an administrators' review process.
We are also compiling a list of projects with procedures for removing inactive administrators on the talk page of the request for comment. Feel free to add your project(s) to the list if you have a policy on administrator inactivity.
All input is appreciated. The discussion may close as soon as 21 May 2013 (2013-05-21), but this will be extended if needed.

[en] Change to section edit links
The default position of the "edit" link in page section headers is going to change soon. The "edit" link will be positioned adjacent to the page header text rather than floating opposite it.
Section edit links will be to the immediate right of section titles, instead of on the far right. If you're an editor of one of the wikis which already implemented this change, nothing will substantially change for you; however, scripts and gadgets depending on the previous implementation of section edit links will have to be adjusted to continue working; however, nothing else should break even if they are not updated in time.

Ideas to do this all the way to 2009 at least. It is often difficult to track which of several potential section edit links on the far right is associated with the correct section, and many readers and anonymous or new editors may even be failing to notice section edit links at all, since they read section titles, which are far away from the links.

- The latest version of MediaWiki (version 1.22/wmf4) was added to non-Wikipedia wikis on May 13, and to the English Wikipedia (with a Wikidata software update) on May 20. It will be updated on all other Wikipedia sites on May 22. [1] [2]

- Future software changes

Hola. Signpost has made a request on English Wikinews for some one to present a positive article about the whole of Wikinews for a pair of opinion pieces. One opinion piece will be by some one who wants to shut down the whole of Wikinews because of quality reasons. Pywikipedia is migrating to Git so after July 26, SVN checkouts won't be updated If you're using Pywikipedia you have to switch to git, otherwise you will use out-dated framework and your bot might not work properly. We need to develop a list of extensions, vital tools, templates that the Visual Editors need to look at and figure out how to address when trying to integrate VE into our project. For example, we probably need a technical explanation related to any local tools, including automatically loaded templates/extensions/modules for new article creation. This information then needs to be passed along via a single language point to the VE team. Original reporting output
Since May 1, when The Wikinewsie Group Newsletter first began tracking original reporting taking place across all projects, 227 stories have been published by 78 reporters 14 different language Wikinews projects. The projects with the greatest number of reporters engaged in original reporting were English with 15, Russian with 14, Polish with 13 and French with 10. Beyond these, original there were one or more journalists engaging in original reporting on Catalan, Chinese, Esperanto, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Serbian, Spanish and Ukrainian. The peak month for reporting across all projects was May with 52 articles. It was followed by June with 49, August with 44, September with 43 and July with 39.
In the past four months, Spanish, Polish, French, Ukrainian, Russian and English have all produced over 20 total pieces of original reporting, with Russian Wikinews publishing 41 stories and English Wikinews publishing 60 stories.
LauraHale, RockerballAustralia, Antanana, Agamitsudo, Dmitry Rozhkov, Plogi, Krassotkin, Schekinov Alexey Victorovich, and MadriCR have each produced 5 or more pieces of original reporting in the past four months. Another group of users, Joan301009, Bddpaux, Computron, Laslovarga, Fed4ev and Yakudza, have produced four articles each. If you are on this list, please seriously consider applying for accredited reporter status on English Wikinews. This will make it easier to identify contributors from around the globe to do original reporting on any special reporting projects done by The Wikinewsie Group.
For September, only three pieces of 43 original reports produced were translated from one language to another. They were Wikinews interviews specialists on China, Iran, Russia support for al-Assad, Wikinews interviews Dr Thomas Scotto and Dr Steve Hewitt about potential US military intervention in Syria, Atlético de Madrid defeats Real Madrid 1-0 in 2013 derby and Tokio gana la sede de los Juegos Olímpicos 2020. Original reporting is a major strength of Wikinews. It is one we should be playing to. Please consider translating your work into another language, or finding a local reporter to assist you with translation work and publishing policy. This will benefit all languages, promote more cooperation between projects, and expand news reach for our reporting which we can leverage to provide more opportunities for reporters.
The Wikinewsie Group is hoping to facilitate more cross-language work. The Wikinewsie Group/Local Wikinews policies is a list of local policies. If some one from each project could complete the row for their language, it would be incredibly useful. Thank you.
Every month, The Wikinewsie Group puts out a newsletter. Please consider putting any local project news on the newsletter. This could include discussions on reporter accreditation, installation of new extensions, translation policies, WMF related discussions of interest to the project. Notifications will inform users about new activity that affects them on this wiki in a unified way: for example, this new tool will let you know when you have new talk page messages, edit reverts, mentions or links -- and is designed to augment (rather than replace) the watchlist. The Wikimedia Foundation's editor engagement team developed this tool (code-named 'Echo') earlier this year, to help users contribute more productively to MediaWiki projects.
We're now getting ready to bring Notifications to almost all other Wikimedia sites, and are aiming for a 22 October deployment, as outlined in this release plan. It is important that notifications is translated for all of the languages we serve.
There are three major points of translation needed to be either done or checked:
- Echo on translatewiki for user interface - you must have an account on translatewiki to translate
- Thanks on translatewiki for user interface - you must have an account on translatewiki to translate

Speak up about the trademark registration of the Community logo.
Hi all,
Please join the consultation about the Community logo that represents Meta-Wiki: m:Community Logo/Request for consultation.
This community consultation was commenced on September 24. The following day, two individuals filed a legal opposition against the registration of the Community logo.
The question is whether the Wikimedia Foundation should seek a collective membership mark with respect to this logo or abandon its registration and protection of the trademark.
We want to make sure that everyone get a chance to speak up so that we can get clear direction from the community. We would therefore really appreciate the community's help in translating this announcement from English so that everyone is able to understand it.
